Checklist mode is useful when you need to create a multi-item action plan. For example, a shopping list, a daily plan, a vacation packing list, etc.

When you switch a note to checklist mode, the note's appearance will change slightly:

In the area where the text would be in a normal note, in List view you will see a field for the list title and the list items themselves. Click the "List Title" line to enter the title text. Each list item consists of text and a checkbox:

👉 To start filling a list, click the "New List Item" line and begin typing.

👉 To add a new list item, place the cursor at the end of the previous item and press Enter (line feed). If you press Enter in the middle of an item, it will be split into two items.

👉 To delete a list item, select it by clicking on it. A red button with a cross will appear at the right end of the item. Clicking this will delete the selected item. You can also use Backspace to delete a list item. Delete characters in a line until the very first character is deleted, then pressing Backspace again will delete that list item.

The checkbox determines the status of each item and has three states:

To toggle a list item's state, simply click the checkbox. To make it easier for you to see what still needs to be done, completed and cancelled items are displayed in gray.

You can reorder list items by simply dragging them. But, it is important to remember that to move an element, you need to click on an area where there is no text. This could be the area at the beginning of the item or at the end of the line. In the picture it is outlined in red.

Click and hold this area, then drag the checklist item up or down. If you click the text area, the standard text menu will appear.

When you switch the checklist back to a regular note, all items will be converted to plain text, but the checkbox state will be lost. Therefore, you'll see a warning message asking you to confirm your actions.

If you click the green checkmark, the list will be converted into a regular text note. If you want to abandon this and keep the checklist, click the red cross.
